How To Promote A Blog Post

October 26, 2017

Blog posts are the perfect way to share your styling expertise with potential clients and promote your business. We know it can be frustrating to work hard on a new blog post only to wonder if anyone actually read it. This week we’re helping you alleviate that frustration by sharing three ways you can share a new blog post to maximize how many people see it. Consistently sharing your new content in these three ways will help you gain new readers and grow your new personal styling business.

SOCIAL MEDIA

The first place you should promote your new blog post is on your social media channels. If you don’t have business accounts set up yet, don’t let that deter you from sharing on your personal Facebook, Instagram or Twitter feeds. Write a brief caption about what your post is about, include a photo (posts with pictures on Facebook get more clicks) and include a link to your post. Don’t forget that everyone won’t see your post the first time you promote it so sharing it more than once is always a good idea.

NEWSLETTER

Newsletters are a highly effective way to promote your business for free. Providing your best content in a monthly newsletter helps create a relationship with people you may never have the chance to meet in person but could become your ideal clients. To provide the most value and content diversity, include a link to your latest blog post in your newsletter.

If you don’t have a newsletter yet for your personal styling business, we highly recommend you start one. Learn more about why and how to start a newsletter here.

EMAIL SIGNATURE

Adding the link to your most recent blog post to the bottom of your email signature is an easy way to promote your blog post without feeling like you’re oversharing. This will help potential clients and anyone else you’re in contact with for business reasons get a feel for your approach to styling so they can better determine if you’re the right personal stylist for them.
